At the Board and Committees meeting of the Federal and Armed Forces Libraries Round Table at the ALA Annual Conference July 12, 2009, the membership was presented with designs for a dynamic e-mail suppliment to the Federal Librarian Newsletter. Questions were also raised about the current practice of creating 4 newsletters annually with only 2 editions being mailed to members physically.
It was suggested that the FAFLRT Membrship be surveyed regarding their feelings about the future of the Federal Librarian Newsletter. So, Michael Calarusso and Angelique Simmons volunteered to draft a survey to get your input.
The Survey is now available and will be open for all FAFLRT members to offer their opinion by August 21, 2009. You can access the survey at:
The survey asks only for your name so we can verify membership in FAFLRT. Your name will not be associated directly with how you fill in the survey and your comments will be anonymous to the Board and Committees that review the results.
It is my hope as incoming President of FAFLRT that we can meet the needs of our members and support their professional development through a number of avenues: communications, events, and forums for interaction. The FAFLRT Board is tasked with raising the necessary funds to support our activities and within our means, we will continue to work hard to serve our community.
Richard Huffine, President
